Day 5 of the 101st Tansen Samaroh unfolded in a serene and devotional atmosphere at Tansen’s birthplace, Behat. The morning began with a traditional Dhrupad Mangal Gaan by the students of Dhrupad Kendra, Behat, setting a spiritually charged tone. Vocalist Shri Vishal Moghe presented a soulful and expressive recital, followed by the graceful and flowing violin performance of Shri Milind Raikar, both enriched by sensitive accompaniment. The programme concluded with a profound Dhrupad presentation by Shri Yogini Tambe, bringing the final morning of the festival to a dignified and successful close.

The morning resonated with a Dhrupad presentation by Sadhna Sangeet Kala Kendra, Gwalior, followed by the soulful flute of Pandit Chetan Joshi and the captivating Khyal of Dr. Rishi Mishra. The session soared with a solo Tabla performance by Shri Sarang Lasurkar (Ajrada Gharana) and concluded with the refined vocals of Shri Ashish Vijay Ranade. As dusk fell, the stage came alive with Shankar Gandharva Sangeet Mahavidyalaya’s Dhrupad and a brilliant Carnatic Violin Jugalbandi by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Dr. Mysore Manjunath (Prince of Mysore) and Shri Sumanth Manjunath. The samaroh was further enriched by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Smt. Kalapini Komkali, leading to a majestic Sitar finale by Padma Shri Pandit Shivnath Mishra and Shri Devavrat Mishra (Banaras Gharana). The evening also witnessed a subtle confluence of art and sound. Special Music Sabha | 101st Tansen Samaroh at Bateshwar Set against the divine and serene backdrop of the Bateshwar Temple complex, the Special Music Sabha under the 101st Tansen Samaroh unfolded in a spiritually charged atmosphere. The sabha began with a composed vocal recital by Mr. Sudhakar Devale (Ujjain), supported by sensitive vocal and instrumental accompaniment. This was followed by an expressive violin performance by Mr. Subhash Deshpande (Morena), enhanced by steady rhythmic and melodic support. The gathering concluded with a refined vocal presentation by Mr. Nirbhay Saxena (Gwalior–Pune), with balanced accompaniment adding depth to the performance. Dhrupad ensembles by students of Raja Mansingh Tomar Music & Arts University, Gwalior, set the spiritual tone, followed by a soulful Bellabhar recital by Pt. Naveen Gandharv. The profound Dhrupad renderings of Pt. Vinod Kumar Dwivedi and Ayush Dwivedi mesmerised listeners, while Italy’s renowned flautist Mr. Simon Metello added a global resonance with his evocative bansuri. The session concluded beautifully with classical vocals by Dr. Sadhna Deshmukh Mohite, celebrating tradition, discipline, and universal musical harmony. Day 2 of the 101st Tansen Samaroh was a celebration of devotion and musical brilliance. Gwalior’s young Dhrupad voices opened the evening with the depth of timeless tradition. Padma Shri Vidushi Sumitra Guha followed with a performance glowing with serenity and devotion. Next, Ritesh and Rajneesh Mishra brought the charm of Banaras to Gwalior, one taan, one sur, one story at a time. The night then reached its majestic crescendo as Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, along with Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, wove their Sarod brilliance and carried forward the illustrious Senia Bangash legacy with unmatched grace.
