Winters in Mizoram are usually from November to March. The winters are not harsh and the weather is very pleasant for sightseeing in Mizoram. Adventure activities like trekking are also best done during this season.
The monsoon starts around May and goes on till September. The weather in Mizoram is very humid and not comfortable to tour around. Sometimes the heavy rain could restrict outdoor activities.
Summers in Bihar are pretty hot and temperatures in May go upto 50°C sometimes. It is not the best time to be outdoors.
The Mizos celebrate an agarian festival called 'Kut', thrice a year in March, September and November.

By Air:
Lengpui Airport is a domestic airport serving Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram. The airport is located 32 km from Aizawl and regular flights connect it to Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and Imphal.
By Road: National Highway (NH-54 and NH-306) connects Aizawl with the rest of the country via Silchar. Buses and taxi services are available from Silchar to Aizawl, a journey that takes around 6 to 8 hours. NH-150 and NH-102B connects Mizoram through Churachandpur, Manipur which is about 13-15 hrs drive from Aizawl and NH-108 connects Aizawl through Panisagar, Tripura which is around 5-6 hrs drive from Aizawl.
You can also travel from Guwahati to Aizawl via Shillong by private and government owned buses.
By Rail:
The nearest railhead at Bairabi is 4 hours away while the station at Silchar, Assam is a 6 hour drive from Aizawl.
