By Air:
Fly to Leh in Ladakh from Delhi. The official name of Leh airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport. This is sure to be one of your most spectacular flights as you fly over snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountains. Spend the first day acclimatizing and visiting Leh city.
By Road: Traveling by road one way an experience of a lifetime. The route is amazing, but strenuous, so it is recommended to fly one way, to Leh and return by road (via Manali or Srinagar). The distance from Leh to Manali is 473 km and and it takes 2 gruelling days to cover this distance. You can stay one night in Pang, Sarchu or Jispa.
The Leh to Srinagar route distance is 422 km, with overnight stay at Kargil, which is midway. This route is open from April to November and is less impressive than the Leh-Manali highway.
