Over thirty indigenous communities exist harmoniously in Jharkhand. This culture makes the state's fairs and festivals an amalgamation of unique experiences for the tourist. The lush green forests of the state are an opportunity to enjoy the calmness and peace of nature.
Winter in Jharkhand is very pleasant and a great time to tour the cities like Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Deoghar. You can even plan to check out places like the Parasnath Hills and Patratu Valley. It is a good time to relish local foods around bonfires. Without the fear of rainfall or extreme heat, this season makes exploring Jharkhand quite delightful.
The monsoons in Jharkhand bring with it amazing shades of green. This is the time when the waterfalls are simply spectacular and the forests are lush green. It is also a good time for adventure sports like trekking, rock climbing, kayaking, etc. This is a good time to savor the local cuisine of Jharkhand.
Sometimes the monsoon makes travel a little difficult. Do remember to check the forecast before you plan you travels.
Jharkhand can get extremely hot during summer and is not a popular travel destination during this season. Some cities like Jamshedpur see the temperature rise up to 45°C.

By Air:
The Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi and the Deogarh airport are the two international airports in the state of Jharkhand. The airport in Ranchi is well connected to all major cities in India such as Delhi, Patna, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata to name a few. The airport is around 7 km from the city centre. The airport has private taxis, prepaid taxi counters for traveling locally from the airport. The nearest bus stand is Kantatoli Bus Stand (4 km from the airport) which is reachable by taxis from the airport.
By Road: Patna is well connected by road. NH31 passes through Patna and Danapur and also branches into Barauni and Nawada. It is also well connected to Bodhgaya and Rajgir within the state as well as to cities in the neighbouring states like Ranchi and Siliguri. Intra-state travel is very convenient due to the good road connectivity.
By Rail:
The railway network in Jharkhand ensures good connectivity to across India. The Ranchi Railway Station and the Hatia Railway Station serve Ranchi and between them have trains coming in from many major cities. The Tatanagar railway station at Jamshedpur also connects to several major cities in the country.
