Winter in Chhattisgarh is from October to February. This is the most pleasant season for a trip when the state comes alive with festivals - the Gond Festival of Madai or Dussehra in Bastar. From outdoor adventure travels to sipiritual tours to the holy sites, this season offers the best of the state.
For nature lovers, the Monsoon is the best season to enjoy. Lush greenery brings alive the rivers, waterfalls and lakes. It is the season to enjoy treks through the hills and hot local foods. Check the weather forecast since the rains can make it quite difficult to access certain forest regions. This is the season of festivals including the Kudargarh Mahotsav (July), Teeja and Pola Festivals (August) and Ratanpur Mahotsav (September).
Summers make a good time to visit if you prefer less crowds. The heat is a deterrant for most tourists. Summers are also a great season for wildlife spotting. The watering holes attract all the animals out making chances of spotting very high.
