Winter is the best time to visit Assam since the weather is very pleasant, making it an ideal time for adventure activities. Camping, trekking are most enjoyable then as are the lush greenery and full bloomed forests. Winter is also the time for the various festivals in the state giving you a wonderful cultural experience.
Frequent heavy showers and storms across the state might disrupt easy movement and restrict tourist activities. Some low-lying areas tend to flood. So exploring Assam during the monsoon is better avoided.
Summers are the best time to visit the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in Assam. During this time the animals are drawn towards waterholes which make for easy spotting.
